'Print' is in for men: Flaunt this cool trend

Ties, shoes, shirts, bags and even coats — men have a lot of choice when it comes to flaunting this cool trend.

'Print' is in for men: Flaunt this cool trend
If the recent celebrity spottings are anything to go by, men like prints too. American music moguls and trend setters Kanye West and P Diddy sport prints in good measure. West even hit the fashion headlines for sporting his leopard print Givenchy bomber jacket.

P Diddy teams his printed tees with leather jackets for an understated effect. Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson usually wears solid colours but succumbed to the trend when he wore a printed sweater vest for an event. Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe was papped flaunting cheetah as well as Aztec print cardigans.

Closer home, Ranveer Singh rocks printed tees, shoes and even suits. He's graced red carpet events wearing geometric print suits, colourful bomber jackets and once a formal suit by Sanchita with busy prints from top to bottom.

Arjun Kapoor also casually sports prints, like a blue shirt with clouds on a chat show or a floral red one while promoting a film. Prints make a statement, subtle or loud.

How to wear prints

Menswear designer Manoviraj Khosla tells you when prints work:

- As a rule of the thumb, do not overcrowd the look. If you're opting for a printed shirt, team it with a plain trouser for a sophisticated look.
- Hawaiian print tees and shorts are best kept for the beach.
- Wearing too much print for formal occasions is a big no-no. You risk people not taking you seriously.

- Restrict prints to your tie or pick a shirt with subtle design for formal occasions. Paisley prints are hot at the moment and make a man look classy.
- Don't follow the crowd. If you want something unique, go to a designer who creates his own prints.
