About the film

Predator: Badlands is a 2025 American science fiction action film directed by Dan Trachtenberg and written by Patrick Aison, based on a story developed by both filmmakers. The film serves as the seventh instalment in the Predator franchise and is set after the events of The Predator.


The story centres on Dek, a young Yautja outcast who crash-lands on a hostile planet and must prove himself worthy by hunting down an apex predator. Along the way, he forms an uneasy alliance with Thia, a damaged Weyland-Yutani Corporation android.

Plot and cast

Dek, an exiled Yautja runt, is sent to the deadly planet Genna to hunt the Kalisk and prove himself after his father orders his execution and kills his brother Kwei. Crash-landing and stripped of gear, Dek reluctantly teams up with Thia, a damaged Weyland-Yutani android. Betrayals follow as android forces capture them to exploit the Kalisk. After brutal confrontations, Dek rescues Thia and the creature’s child, Bud, defeats Tessa and ultimately kills his father, choosing his own clan over tradition.

Elle Fanning plays dual roles as Thia, a damaged Weyland-Yutani synthetic who allies with Dek, and Tessa, her ruthless “sister.” Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi stars as Dek, a young Yautja outcast, and also voices Njohrr, the clan leader, physically portrayed by Reuben de Jong. Mike Homik plays Kwei, Dek’s protective brother, with Stefan Grube voicing the character. Rohinal Narayan appears as Bud. Cameron Brown portrays Smyth and other synthetics, and Stranger Things' Duffer Brothers voice Kwei’s onboard computer.
