Pre-Puja rush: A multi-armed Mamata Banerjee's idol is sending Kolkata into a tizzy!
The look-alike idol, inspired by 'Didi' shows her draped in her signature white sari with a blue border and rubber slippers.

At the Bhawanipore Durgotsav Samiti pandal, the Durga idol has got a Mamata-like makeover. Bhawanipore, which falls under the Kalighat constituency, is sporting an idol that is a lookalike of the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Incidentally, Kalighat is the Assembly constituency of the CM.
The look-alike idol, inspired by 'Didi' shows her draped in her signature white sari with a blue border and rubber slippers. Banerjee’s figure is seen folding her hands and offering floral tribute to the goddess Durga. The fibre-glass idol has 12 hands as compared to the goddesses who has 10.

The statue’s backdrop has been designed on the lines of that of West Bengal.
The pandal has been drawing a huge crowd, as it is one of the first to have made the chief minister into an idol.
