'Praying for your speedy recovery': Anil Kapoor sends best wishes to 'Hawkeye' star Jeremy Renner

Bollywood superstar Anil Kapoor on Monday wished a speedy recovery to co-star Jeremy Renner, who met with an accident over the weekend.

The 'Avengers' star Renner, who essayed the role of Hawkeye in the Marvel franchise, injured himself while ploughing snow at his home in Reno, Nevada. He was in the intensive care unit after undergoing surgery on Monday.

Kapoor took to Twitter to send his best wishes to the two-time Oscar nominee.


"Praying for your speedy recovery Jeremy," the 66-year-old wrote actor alongside two photos with the Marvel star.


Renner and Kapoor have known each other for over a decade. They first met on the sets of the Tom Cruise-starrer 2011 movie 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol'. However, they never shared the screen space with each other.

Currently, the two are working together in the upcoming Disney+ series 'Rennervations'. Renner was in India in May 2022 to shoot for the non-scripted series slated to be released this year.

In a statement, publicist Samantha Mast said the 51-year-old actor had "suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries" in the accident on Sunday. According to the entertainment website Deadline, Renner is in a 'critical but stable condition', and he is receiving 'excellent care'.

"We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while ploughing snow earlier today. His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care," the spokesperson was quoted as saying to Deadline.

Renner will be seen in the second season of 'Mayor of Kingstown', set to premiere on January 15 on Paramount+.

Renner was nominated for an Academy Award for best actor for his work in the 2008 film 'The Hurt Locker', which also won the Oscar for best picture, and he received a supporting actor nomination for his work in 'The Town' from 2010.
