Porsche’s spin in the night
It was a party to toast Porsche’s first anniversary at its state-of-the-art showroom in Mumbai, particularly after it reopened its gates to its customers following a fall-out with its previous dealer in 2012. Hosted by Porsche India’s director Anil Reddi, the event saw a bunch of political and business heavyweights attend, including Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.

But the attraction of the evening was a white vintage Porsche 356 from 1963, which was on display for a day. The only one in the country, it is regarded as the first Porsche as it was the first car to be sold under the German manufacturer’s name. It was produced between 1948 and 1965 and now belongs to an NRI collector. The company borrowed it especially for the celebratory evening and had to return it to its owner.
