PM Narendra Modi attends the wedding of Mollywood star Suresh Gopi’s daughter Bhagya

It’s not every day, that your wedding is attended by the Prime Minister himself!

Malayalam actor-politician Suresh Gopi, whose daughter Bhagya got married recently, took to Instagram to share some snapshots from her wedding. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of the esteemed guests at the event.

Sharing the pictures, the ‘Manichitrathazu’ star wrote, “At the divine Guruvayur Temple, my lovely kids tied the knot, with the esteemed presence of our Honourable PM Narendra Modi ji. Kindly keep @bhagya_suresh and @sreyasmohan in your prayers.”


The pictures have gone viral on the video and image-sharing site, gaining more than 154K likes.

In the picture, the PM is shown to be silently cheering on the side while the bride and groom exchange garlands. The bride looked resplendent in a bright orange sari which she draped in the traditional style, while her groom was seen sporting a white dhoti and chador.

Many fans flooded the comment section, wishing the newlyweds marital bliss. “The luckiest daughter Ever @bhagya_suresh God bless you both couples. Wish you a very happy married life,” wrote an Instagram user. Another commented, “The couples are truly blessed. A Rare chance to get married in the presence of the PM in India. You deserve it as a human!”

The wedding ceremony reportedly took place at the Guruvayur Temple in Kerala.

Many luminaries of the Malayalam film industry (popularly known as Mollywood) such as Mammootty, Mohanlal, Dileep, and Jayaram were part of the illustrious guest.

One of the most renowned names in Mollywood, Gopi transitioned into politics. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2016. Later, he became a member of the Parliament through nomination.
