Unless you have been living under a rock, you would have heard the song 'Gotilo gotilo ... Khalasi' that has set the country's pop charts on fire. This year belonged to the Gujarati song - and the voice behind it, Aditya Gadhvi.
And recently, it was none other than the Prime Minister himself who gave a shout-out to the singer. Narendra Modi took to social media and praised him for "winning hearts for his music."
"Khalasi is topping the charts and Aditya Gadhvi is winning hearts for his music. This video brings back memories from a special interaction ... ," the PM wrote, as he shared an earlier video of Gadhvi reminiscing about his first encounter with Modi during the latter's stint as Gujarat CM.
Gadhvi, who started his musical journey while in his teens, recalled that he had met Modi before he became the PM in 2014. In the video, the singer said that he received high praise from the leader for his musical talent. In fact, Modi also asked him if he managed to do his studies as well, along with his singing.
"When the show was over, my father asked me if I wanted to meet Modi Ji, and I said, ‘Yes, definitely.’ So now I was mentally preparing that I would have to introduce myself to him, but as I approached him, he extended his hand forward and said, ‘What is this, son? You have hoisted the flag of Gujarat. Do you study or not?," the 29-year-old singer shared in the video.
