Helping people to learn via gaming makes the process fun and exciting, believes Dilsher Singh Malhi.
A firm believer in the efficacy of learning through games, Dilsher Singh Malhi founded skill-based gaming company Zupee with the aim of bringing joy to peoples’ lives through purposeful games that can simplify, engage, and entertain. His goal is simple — empower people through gaming, that is, offer people personal improvement options, skill-training, learning, re-learning and earning through fun and exciting gamified applications.
The company is currently developing games to augment learning abilities, skills and mental aptitude through the application of neurosciences, psychology and visual art. He wants games to be a part of the everyday lives of people of all ages to keep them informed, entertained and most importantly, engaged.
Gamifying learning Malhi believes making learning, education and skilling an enjoyable experience will not only improve motivation and effectiveness but will also reduce the stress of learning from traditional methods. This conviction comes from his days as an engineering graduate at IIT Kanpur where he developed a deep interest in human behaviour and psychology.
Helping people to learn via gaming makes the process fun and exciting, believes Malhi. And that belief has paid off in spades. Zupee, one of the pioneers in skill-based mobile gaming in India, has grown rapidly, acquiring 10 million users in its first two years, making it one of the fastest growing companies in the industry.
Taking the monotony out of business Malhi, who has secured three rounds of funding for his company, is currently developing a number of important innovations that will reward improvement and simplify complex information.
Apart from making traditional learning fun, the founder wants to transform business outcomes through customised solutions aimed at simplifying complex training programs and gamifying monotonous instructions. He believes that technology-led innovations can also provide solutions for addressing mental well-being problems in working professionals and homemakers.

Vocal for local Malhi is a firm proponent of the inherent power of technology for good. To this end, he is spearheading the creation of language agnostic games to reach people in all parts of the country and incentivise learning across all walks of life. With this, he hopes to pave the way for solving problems related to access, financial literacy and pervasive healthcare.
Hailing from Bikaner, Rajasthan, Malhi is also trying to do his part in creating a self-reliant, atmanirbhar India by rediscovering and re-engineering lost and forgotten games of India that could gain global recognition for the country in the consumer technology sector.
