Pixel 3, 3XL, Home Hub & more: What to expect from the Google event
Google will unveil its product range for the year today in New York City. A month after Apple launched its new line-up and Amazon showcased its new products at a surprise event, now all eyes are on Google.

The most-anticipated products, are of course, the new Pixel phones - Pixel 3 and 3 XL. The Pixel 3 is rumored to be getting a modern 18:9 screen, and the Pixel 3 XL is expected to come with a notch. The new phones will reportedly also sport an entirely glass back. While they will come in classic black and white colours, there is a possibility of Google also launching the phones in Aqua - to match the Google Home Minty. There have been rumours about a Pink variant of the phone too. The phones are also expected to sport a smarter camera, a dual front camera - most likely for wider selfies - and support wireless charging.

A wireless charger also seems to be in the pipeline to support the phone's new feature. According to leaks, Google is planning to release a 'wireless charging stand' to make it simpler for users to see notifications, scroll through while on charging.

If leaks are to be believed, Google has another Home product up its sleeve. The tech giant is expected to announce the Home Hub to take on Amazon's Echo Show.

Google may also unveil its first Chrome tablet, Pixel Slate, with a built-in trackpad, and detachable keyboard. According to leaks, it will come with a Pen, front and rear cameras, and a USB-C port.

While there is no confirmation, the Pixelbook may be getting an update, too. And so will the Chromecast.

However, smartwatch fans will be left disappointed, as the company doesn't seem to be planning a watch launch. Seems like this is one Apple product launched this year that see competition from Google.

While there have be numerous leaks on the hardware front, the tech giant may have a horde of surprises when it comes to software.

The event will begin at 8:30 pm IST (11 am ET).

The lens can copy any text from the real world into your phone. This is something Google has demonstrated before, but now it sounds like the feature is ready and actually coming to Google Lens. You’ll be able to point your phone’s camera at text in the real world — say, a written down Wi-Fi password — grab that text, and then paste it into a text field on your smartphone. And now it’s also going to help you buy fashionable things. Google Lens still isn’t perfect at identifying precise items of clothing, but Google thinks it can get close enough. The company is introducing a new “style match” feature that will scan something the camera is pointed at and help you buy it from internet retailers. Sounds like a dream come true for Pinterest fans. But will Amazon be among those stores?
