Pie in your face? Top bosses reveal their tips and tricks to deal with it
Last month, Alan Joyce, CEO of Qantas Airways, had to eat pie — one which was plastered on his face.

Later, he jokingly told reporters he had been unable to identify the flavour. Turns out, it was lemon meringue, flung at him as a mark of protest. Putting politics aside and answering the question with good humour, leading executives say if they had a pie-in-the face moment, this is the flavour they would plumb for:
Jason Kothari Chief Strategy and Investment Officer, Snapdeal
“Pecan pie à la mode for me. It’s the perfect combo of warm, cool, sweet and crunchy. I would respond by saying, ‘Thanks for the facial. Do I get a foot massage as well?"

Yannick Colaco MD, NBA India
Manu Kumar Jain MD, Xiaomi India
“Blueberry would be my flavour of choice. I just like the taste. At least nowadays, blueberry is my favourite in cakes and pastries.”

“If someone had to throw a pie at me, I’d prefer it to be a strawberry one, so I can at least have a taste of it. Of course, I would also like to know what I did to warrant such a reaction.”
Phillip Di Bella Founder, Coffee By Di Bella
“I would have to pick apple. It’s my favourite. I would have handled it [such a situation] with humour — however, stating clearly that I am a savoury man not a sweet person.”
