With AI being the centre focus of camera on the new smartphones, owners of older smartphones might feel they are missing out on this big new feature.

Picai is an app that adds AI to the camera on any smartphone. On the first run, you need to answer a few questions for it to understand your preferences.


Once done, whenever you start the camera app, it analyses the scene and detects what type it is (poster, landscape, wall, wood, pattern etc). The app then suggests two filters to choose from.

After you choose one of the two effects, you can adjust the intensity of the filter effect on the image. Once you are satisfied with the image preview, you can tap on the shutter button to click the photo.

You can switch between front and rear cameras, toggle the flash on/off and even enable a timer from within the app. In our opinion, this is a good way to enjoy the benefits of AI for the camera on your smartphone.
