Philips' cheapest 60-watt LED bulb at Rs 317 a glow
Unless you refuse to light the room with anything but old-fashioned incandescent bulbs, you really don't have a reason not to upgrade to Philips' new LED bulbs.

It will officially be the cheapest 60-watt equivalent LED bulb you can buy when it hits the retail stores in the US from May in both 2700K and 5000K colour temperature versions. And thanks to a shatter-resistant design, it should easily survive its 10 -year expected lifespan, costing just over a dollar per year to power its 800 lumens output.
To make it popular and celebrate Earth Day, Philips and a popular US retail chain had actual ly teamed up to make the new bulb available in a two-for-one pack for the first 90 days. Well, that was really cheaper.
