Sukhbir Bagga shares his wishlist which includes wanting to go out and eating some of his favourite meals.
Sukhbir Bagga, CEO & MD, Petal Group has been working out at his home gym since the lockdown, but can’t wait to once again sweat it out at the club gym.

"We were lucky to visit Maldives in November, and get a break. For the summer, we had plans of visiting London, as a family. But we may have to wait till the lockdown eases, and things get back to normal," he says.

Favourite things

"An intense workout session at the gym would definitely be one of them for me. Apart from this, I haven’t thought of anything specific but yes executing aggressive business plans will be my first priority. I love to try out food at new restaurants and there are many favourites. I do miss going out with friends and family. There are two favourite places I would love to visit soon, Bastian in Mumbai, and Indian Accent in Delhi. I would also love to visit the Bukhara, New Delhi and have some delicious North Indian food once the unlock phase begins, and it’s safe eating out," he says.

Shopping suggestions
Dubai happens to be Bagga's favourite shopping destination, because of the ease of access. "The malls, the hotels and the overall ambience make it my choice. There is something that I had my eyes on before lockdown, and it happens to be the new Maserati MC20 sports car, but I think it has to wait for some time now. Once things get back to normal," he says.

Things have been going smoothly even with the WFH set-up for Bagga. "I along with all our staff members miss meeting each other at the office but we carry out regular video calls to stay connected as much as we can. Yes, we bought several softwares to increase the efficiency of our employees while working from their homes. This also helps us to guide them in a better way during this new normal. My personal tech, something I can’t do without is my Macbook Air, iphone, and Airpods. These three make my work anywhere, and my wfh becomes more smoother. One of the things that we have learnt and understood during lockdown is that customers, and people in general have adapted to technology very very fast and I would say the transition that would have happened in five years has happened in this year itself. So we have moved to more technology and allocated more budgets in technology app, erp systems, and hence have started seeing positive results also," he says.

Bagga says he thinks a lot and worries a lot. So while he is trying to relax, there was always work on the back of his mind. "There was no such technique to learn, that I specially planned. But yes, by default I did a lot of reading, painting with my daughter and focused a lot on personal well being during this period. Also, reading and knowing more about what’s happening in the business of cars globally always tops my list. I have been mostly doing Yoga and some body-weight exercises like pushups and pullups along with 10-15 minutes of cardio. I have made a routine of working out regularly that has helped me maintain. I begin my day with an early morning Yoga session of about 20 minutes. Apart from this, I am currently working out for around 45-60 minutes for 6 days every week in the evening. This includes 10-15 minutes of daily cardio and weight training for each muscle on every separate day," he says.

New hobbies
Last year Bagga was definitely able to pick some time out for hobbies but this time things are really difficult out there and it’s getting hard for him to distract himself from there.

"However, I have begun meditating in whatever time I get free to relax myself and increase my focus. I have been working extensively on my mental well-being ever since the first lockdown was introduced in 2020. As I earlier mentioned, practicing Yoga and meditation are some of the things that help me contribute to it. I’m a very positive person, and see the positive side to things. I’ve been speaking to friends, family on a regular basis and have ensured that we share positive news more," he says.

Bagga takes care of a regular regime which mainly includes hair-cut and trimming. "I feel one needs to be well-groomed even while staying at home because it gives a sense of feel-good atmosphere. A regular trimmer along with a good-quality shaving kit is essential in personal grooming. Also, I heavily recommend that no one should compromise on the quality of these products," he ends.
