Rehan Huck shares his healthy investments and how they help him amidst the pandemic.
Rehan Huck, Vice President, ILC Group - Retail, tries and balances his work life with personal life. "I weight train three days a week. I cycle twice a week and try clocking 100 kms. I also try and catch golf once a week. I don’t really watch what I eat but I generally avoid junk as much as I can," he says.

Bodybuilding
His day starts at 5 am. "I like to weight train early morning. Keeps me active throughout the day. My weight training schedule is generally 90 minutes session which is a mix of cardio and core strength training. If I am cycling it’s a 2.5 hours schedule in the morning. I practice pause and break mechanism at work and avoid sitting for too long. I also watch my posture deliberately," he says.

Huck has his breakfast after his workout and it’s a very heavy meal. "In fact it’s the heaviest meal I have. My lunch is light and my dinner is lighter. I eat everything though, but in moderation and seldom over eat. I try and avoid junk as much as possible and yes I have given up all supplements and proteins completely. Regulated work out and controlled diet and time of the diet contributes a lot to my energy levels through the day and also helps me sleep better," he shares.

Mind pursuits
Huck prays every day. It helps him immensely. "I also pursue music a lot. Nothing can recreate you like music. But truly speaking my time with my kids are the most fulfilling. I think people who can switch off from work at will are the most blessed in this world. They eat, sleep and live better," he says.

He thinks talking to yourself is the most important along with what you feed your mind and soul.

"It’s also a great function of the company you keep too. For my soul, I close my eyes. Take a deep breath, ease my forehead lines, drop my shoulders and unclench my jaw. Take a moment, try doing it. Your soul will be healthy if you treat your life like a journey and not like a competition and care for the people you work with/for. And, always give to the less fortunate. It’s the only way to have a meaningful existence," he ends.

Yash Dongre Business head at House of Anita Dongre

“I have fine-tuned my baking skills. Although my wife Benaisha and I aren’t vegan, the rest of the house is. So, during the lockdown, vegan baking took centrestage. Benaisha makes the best chocolate mousse cake. It’s made with dates, almond flour and coconut milk — it’s a huge hit. I find baking therapeutic. It’s a precise activity where the outcome is as perfect as the work that goes into it. If you follow the instructions, the end result is good. I love that.”
