The makers have now confirmed that Peddi will begin streaming on Netflix from July 9. The film will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. However, viewers waiting for the Hindi version will have to wait a little longer, as it is scheduled to arrive on the platform in August after a longer digital window.Unlike a typical sports film, Peddi combines cricket, action and emotional storytelling. The story revolves around a gifted cricketer who is willing to play for any team as long as he gets paid. His outlook towards life changes after he meets Appalasuri, a determined villager who has spent years fighting to secure a railway halt and official recognition for his village.
Inspired by Appalasuri's dedication, the cricketer begins to see life beyond money and personal success. Under the guidance of his Pehelwaani mentor Gournaidu, he transforms into a sportsman who is prepared to make sacrifices for the people around him. The film explores themes of selflessness, responsibility and using one's talent for a greater purpose.
