Peddi OTT release date confirmed: When and where to watch Ram Charan, Janvhi Kapoor's Telugu sports action movie. Check language versions

After a successful run in theatres, Ram Charan's Peddi is finally ready to make its digital debut. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the sports action drama turned out to be one of the biggest Telugu films of the year, earning more than Rs 400 crore worldwide during its theatrical run. While the film performed exceptionally well in the Telugu states, its overseas collections were comparatively modest. Fans who missed it on the big screen can now look forward to watching it from the comfort of their homes.

The makers have now confirmed that Peddi will begin streaming on Netflix from July 9. The film will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. However, viewers waiting for the Hindi version will have to wait a little longer, as it is scheduled to arrive on the platform in August after a longer digital window.

Unlike a typical sports film, Peddi combines cricket, action and emotional storytelling. The story revolves around a gifted cricketer who is willing to play for any team as long as he gets paid. His outlook towards life changes after he meets Appalasuri, a determined villager who has spent years fighting to secure a railway halt and official recognition for his village.


Inspired by Appalasuri's dedication, the cricketer begins to see life beyond money and personal success. Under the guidance of his Pehelwaani mentor Gournaidu, he transforms into a sportsman who is prepared to make sacrifices for the people around him. The film explores themes of selflessness, responsibility and using one's talent for a greater purpose.

Ram Charan headlines the film, while Janhvi Kapoor plays the female lead. Shruti Haasan also appears in a special dance number that became one of the talking points before the film's release. The movie received mixed reviews and also became embroiled in a controversy in a few scenes.
