Paytm, L&T and Godrej help Kailash Satyarthi fight against child abuse

While it is mandatory for corporations to set aside two per cent of their net profit for CSR initiatives, the issues they cover are varied, and not many are involved in matters like child rights, feels Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi.

Satyarthi, who was awarded the Nobel peace prize in 2014 jointly with Malala Yousafzai, was in Mumbai recently, speaking at the Bombay Stock Exchange to gather support for his organisation's efforts to put an end to child sexual abuse and trafficking.

Already lending support to Satyarthi in the cause were industry leaders like Paytm, L&T and Godrej, with their representatives.

The highlight of the event was an emphatic speech by Satyarthi. And keeping up with the theme of the event, talks about Vijay Shekhar Sharma's Paytm setting up a social foundation were also doing the rounds.
