‘Pathaan’ clocks $103 mn worldwide, becomes 1st Hindi film in global century BO club without China release

Domestically, the film has surpassed the Rs 400 crore mark.

The SRK-Deepika Padukone starrer has just crossed another milestone - it is now the first Hindi film to cross $100 million at the global box-office without a China release! According to a Deadline report, the espionage thriller accomplished this feat on the 12th day of its release. It’s current BO collection (worldwide) is a whopping $103 million (Rs 849 crore approximately)!

The Siddharth Anand directorial has minted a staggering Rs 526 crore ($64.2 million) domestically, and $39.4 million overseas according to the report.


The spy thriller is a surprise hit in the USA. With $14.3 million, the movie is the highest-earning Hindi movie there, surpassing the collections of ‘RRR’. If its dream run at the US box-office continues, the film may overtake ‘Baahubali’ to become the biggest Indian movie there.

The action thriller has also taken the Middle East by storm. It collected a total of $11.4 million from the UAE and the Gulf States on Sunday (6 January). It is the highest-grossing Indian film in UAE.

The film is also breaking records in the UK. It took home $4.15 million, making it the first Indian movie to cross $3 million at the British box-office.

Yash Raj Films (YRF) celebrated this amazing feat through an Instagram post. “An action spectacle to be gloriously remembered! #Pathaan continues to rule hearts all over...,” read their post.
The action-adventure is not budging from its numero uno position back home. According to a report by box office collection tracking portal Sacnilk.com, the movie earned Rs 7.5-8 crore on Tuesday (January 8). The Deepika Padukone-John Abraham starrer minted a whopping Rs 15 crore on Monday, across all languages. Currently ‘Pathaan’s domestic box office is estimated to be somewhere around Rs 446 crore.

One of the most-awaited movies of 2023, ‘Pathaan’ also marked Khan’s return to the big screen after five years. In the movie, he steps into the shoes of a spy who is on a mission to take down rogue RAW agent turned-terrorist Jim. Padukone plays Rubina Mohsin, an enigmatic ISI agent.
