Last week, Carlton House Terrace mansion in London was decked up with colourful lights and the foyer of the house was decorated with f lowers, which meant one thing — the Hinduja family was hosting its annual glittery, powerpacked Diwali party.

Located in the heart of London's Westminster neighbourhood near Buckingham Palace overlooking St James Park, the mansion was set up with idols of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi.

What set the celebration apart was the presence of eminent leaders and businessmen from around the world, including Mukesh Ambani and wife Nita.

Foreign Secretary of the UK and MP Boris Johnson, MP and Chief Whip Gavin Wil liamson, Secretary of State for International Development and MP Priti Patel, Minister of State, Foreign & Commonwealth Office Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon, Lord and Lady Desai, MP Virendra Sharma and Lord Jitesh Gadhia were some of the dignitaries present. SP Lohia, founder and chairman of the Indorama Corporation, wife Seema and son Amit Lohia also graced the party.

The guests enjoyed Indian vegetarian cuisine, starting from a variety of Indian chaats and ending with meetha paan. Also, included on the menu were a few exotic international vegetarian dishes.
