Papam Prathap OTT release date confirmed: When and where to watch the Telugu comedy-drama starring Thiruveer and Payal Radhakrishna

The Telugu rural comedy-drama Papam Prathap, starring Thiruveer and Payal Radhakrishna in lead roles, is all set for its digital release after completing its theatrical run. The film, which hit cinemas on April 17, 2026, is now moving to streaming space for a wider audience.

As per the official announcement shared by ETV Win, the film will start streaming from May 7, 2026. The OTT release comes nearly three weeks after its theatrical debut. The post-theatrical streaming rights have been acquired by ETV Win, which will exclusively host the film.

The makers are reportedly hoping that the digital release will help the film reach a larger audience, especially since its theatrical response was mixed. The film was also originally designed as a project for the same streaming platform before its theatrical outing.

Story set in rural backdrop with comedy and emotion

Written and directed by S. P. Durga Naresh, the film is set in a 1990s Godavari rural backdrop. The story follows Prathap, played by Thiruveer, a soft-spoken young man who marries his childhood love Bujjamma, played by Payal Radhakrishna.

Things take an unexpected turn just days after their wedding. Bujjamma leaves for her parental home after a sudden issue in the marriage, but she does not clearly explain the reason. This creates confusion in the village and also puts Prathap in an uncomfortable situation.

The rest of the film follows Prathap’s efforts to understand what went wrong and how he tries to fix the relationship. The narrative mixes light comedy with emotional moments, focusing on misunderstandings between a newly married couple and the social pressure around them.

Cast and technical team

Apart from Thiruveer and Payal Radhakrishna, the film features a supporting cast including Ajay Ghosh, Raasi, Devi Prasad, Goparaju Ramana, Raghu Babu, Prasad Behara, Ananth Babu, and Srinivas Avasarala.

The film is produced by Gaddam Rakesh Reddy and Rudradev Madhi Reddy under ETV Win and Krishi Entertainments. Music is composed by K. M. Radha Krishna and Suresh Bobbili, while Vishweshwar S. V handles cinematography. Editing is done by Anwar Ali.
