The upcoming season has been announced as part of Amazon Prime Video’s new Indian content slate. While the exact release date has not been revealed yet, the streaming platform has confirmed that the show will premiere sometime in 2026. Like the previous seasons, Panchayat Season 5 will stream exclusively on Prime Video.
On April 3, Prime Video shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of Season 5 on Instagram and mentioned in the caption that the new season is currently filming.
Jitendra Kumar and the main cast to return
Season 5 will once again feature Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi, the engineering graduate-turned-panchayat secretary whose journey in Phulera has remained the heart of the story. The new season is also expected to bring back familiar faces, including Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Sanvikaa, Faisal Malik, and Chandan Roy.

The creators have already hinted that the next season will address several unanswered questions left behind in Season 4. During an earlier interaction with IANS in 2025, writer Chandan Kumar teased that viewers can expect answers about the village elections, Sachiv ji and Rinki’s relationship, and the mystery surrounding the attack on Pradhan Ji. However, he also hinted that the answers may come with unexpected twists.Neena Gupta added to the excitement with her witty reaction to fan theories about the election outcome. While discussing predictions that Manju Devi could return stronger, the actress jokingly said, "The script has leaked. Get ready for the next season - the script has already leaked!”
What to expect from the new season
According to the official synopsis, Abhishek Tripathi will face a difficult phase in Phulera under what has been described as “new, vengeful leadership.” Even as he focuses on his MBA dreams and future career plans, unfinished conflicts in the village continue to pull him back into local politics and emotional complications.The storyline is expected to continue directly from the events of Season 4, which ended on an emotional and dramatic note. Abhishek successfully cleared his CAT exam and finally confessed his feelings to Rinki. At the same time, the village election brought a major twist as Manju Devi lost to Kranti Devi, changing the power dynamics in Phulera.
