Panasonic Life Solutions India has announced the launch of the LUMIX S1II and LUMIX S1IIE, the latest models in its full-frame mirrorless LUMIX S Series. Built for professional photographers, filmmakers, and content creators, the cameras feature high image quality, precise colour reproduction, and advanced video capabilities for both stills and motion. With India’s growing focus on digital storytelling across weddings, commercials, documentaries, and fashion, the two models aim to cater to a wide range of creative needs. The LUMIX S1II is priced from Rs 3,29,990, while the LUMIX S1IIE is priced at Rs 2,69,990, available through authorised dealers and Panasonic’s direct-to-consumer platform.

LUMIX S1II: Performance and Versatility in a Single Body

The LUMIX S1II combines a newly developed 24.1MP full-frame partially stacked CMOS sensor with Panasonic’s latest Venus Engine for faster data processing and high image quality. It is the first LUMIX camera to support 5.1K 60p, 4K 120p, and 5.8K 60p video formats, with up to 15 stops of dynamic range in V-Log at frame rates below 30p. Designed with hybrid creators in mind, it offers blackout-free burst shooting at 70 frames per second in SH/SH PRE mode, along with extended 5.1K 60p Open Gate recording for flexible reframing or vertical formats. Panasonic plans a firmware update to add multiple frame marker displays for multi-platform production.

LUMIX S1IIE: A Step Up for Content Creators

The LUMIX S1IIE features a 24.2MP sensor based on the LUMIX S5II and supports 6K 30p open gate video recording. It adds a 2.4:1 cinematic aspect ratio at multiple frame rates up to 60p without cropping, offering a full widescreen capture. With over 14 stops of dynamic range in V-Log, it supports professional colour grading workflows. The camera enables burst shooting up to 30 fps with the electronic shutter and 10 fps with the mechanical shutter in H+ mode, both with blackout-free shooting for uninterrupted tracking of fast-moving subjects.
