Good news for period drama lovers! Tovino Thomas’s period action drama film Pallichattambi will soon make its debut on OTT. According to a 123 Telugu.com report, the drama will be making its debut on July 24. Sony LIV has secured the digital streaming rights for the film following its theatrical release. Once its run in cinemas concludes, the movie will premiere on the platform with audio options in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada, allowing audiences across multiple language markets to watch it simultaneously.

About Pallichattambi

Set during Kerala's turbulent Vimochana Samaram (Liberation Struggle), the story unfolds in the border village of Kaaniyar, located between Kerala and Karnataka. The local community finds itself deeply unsettled by the sweeping land and education reforms introduced by the world's first democratically elected Communist government. Fearing that the new policies will strip them of their land, influence, and independence, the village's Church leadership decides to take drastic action.

To safeguard its interests, the Church recruits a mysterious and formidable strongman whose true identity remains unknown. He is given the name Christopher Pothan, later earning the title "Pallichattambi" (Church Rowdy), and is entrusted with organizing an armed resistance force known as the Christopher Sena. Under his leadership, the villagers—including women and members of indigenous communities—receive rigorous physical training and prepare to confront the growing Communist movement.

As events unfold, Christopher undergoes a profound ideological transformation. His experiences expose him to the harsh realities faced by the oppressed and marginalized sections of society, prompting him to question the very cause he was brought in to defend. Instead of serving the interests of the powerful, he ultimately chooses to stand alongside the vulnerable, becoming their protector and challenging the forces that once sought to use him as a weapon.

*Pallichattambi* stars Kayadu Lohar as the female lead alongside a supporting cast that includes Shatru, Vijayaraghavan, Siddique, and Baburaj in pivotal roles. The film is jointly produced by World Wide Films and C Qube Bros Entertainments and also features a special cameo appearance by Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film's soundtrack and background score are composed by Jakes Bejoy.
