The Indian release of this film has generated significant excitement among fans, as it marks a rare opportunity to see a Pakistani production on the big screen.
The film 'The Legend of Maula Jatt', starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan and released in 2022, is now set to premiere in Indian cinemas. Director Bilal Lashari and Mahira Khan announced this news on their official Instagram accounts. Bilal Lashari wrote, "Releasing in India, Punjab on Wednesday, October 2nd! After two years, it's still a full house on weekends in Pakistan! I’m eager for our Punjabi audience in India to experience the magic of this passion project."

Mahira Khan shared the film’s poster on her Instagram Story and expressed her enthusiasm with the message, "Let’s go."

Notably, 'The Legend of Maula Jatt' will be the first Pakistani film to be released in Indian theatres in over ten years. The movie is an official remake of the Pakistani classic 'Maula Jatt'. The story centers on the epic clash between Noori Natt, portrayed by Hamza Ali Abbasi as the ruthless gang leader, and the local hero Maula Jatt, played by Fawad Khan.


The Indian release of this film has generated significant excitement among fans, as it marks a rare opportunity to see a Pakistani production on the big screen.

Following the Uri terror attack in 2016, a ban was imposed on Pakistani artists working in India. However, in November 2023, the Supreme Court rejected a petition for a total ban on Pakistani performers and workers in India.

Both Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan have previously appeared in Indian films. Fawad starred in movies such as Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Khoobsurat, while Mahira made her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Raees
