Paathirathri OTT release date confirmed: Where and when to watch the Malayalam crime-thriller online

After its theatrical run last year, Paathirathri is now heading to the digital space. The Malayalam crime-thriller starring Navya Nair and Soubin Shahir is officially set for its OTT premiere. Viewers who missed it in cinemas will soon be able to watch the investigative drama from home. The film, which will stream online in Malayalam, was earlier hinted to have a possible earlier OTT release date, but it was pushed.

When and where to watch Paathirathri

The digital rights of the film have been acquired by ZEE5, and the movie will premiere directly on the platform. The announcement was shared on social media, with the streamer writing, “Witness the Night That Stays With You. Paathirathri Premieres February 20th on Malayalam ZEE5.”

The film originally released in theatres on October 17, 2025. Though it received mixed reactions from critics at the time, many viewers were waiting for its online debut.

What is Paathirathri about?

Directed by Ratheena PT and written by Shaji Maraad, Paathirathri follows two police officers whose lives change over the course of a single night. SI Jancy, played by Navya Nair, and Constable Hareesh, portrayed by Soubin Shahir, are on routine night patrol duty when they notice something unusual.

What begins as a regular shift soon turns into a tense chase. The situation worsens after the mysterious death of a journalist named Ansar comes to light. As suspicion grows around them, the two officers find themselves not just investigating a crime but also defending their own integrity.

The story explores their professional responsibility and the strain on their personal lives. Both characters are shown dealing with troubled relationships even before the incident. As the investigation deepens, the line between guilt and duty becomes blurred. The film looks at fear, accountability, and the consequences of one critical decision.

Cast and crew details

Apart from the lead pair, the film features Sunny Wayne, Ann Augustine, Athmiya Rajan, Achyuth Kumar, Indrans, Harisree Ashokan, Shabareesh Varma and others in important roles. Achyuth Kumar, who is known for his work in Kannada cinema, plays a significant character in the story.

Paathirathri is produced by Dr. K.V. Abdul Nazar and Ashiya Nazar under the banner of Benzy Productions. The cinematography is handled by Shehnad Jalal, while the music and background score are composed by Jakes Bejoy. Editing is done by Sreejith Sarang.

Ratheena PT, who previously directed the critically discussed Malayalam film Puzhu, returns with this police procedural thriller that unfolds mostly over one night.
