The festive atmosphere continued off-screen as Ajith’s wife Shalini, along with their children, attended a special screening of the film. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Good Bad Ugly is an action comedy that tells the story of a retired gangster forced to return to violence when his son is wrongly arrested. This also marks Mythri’s debut production in Tamil cinema.
The star-studded cast includes Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Sunil, Karthikeya Dev, Priya Prakash Varrier, Prabhu, and Prasanna, with notable cameo appearances by Jackie Shroff, Simran, Shine Tom Chacko, Rahul Dev, and Yogi Babu, among others. With strong word-of-mouth and glowing critic reviews, the film is poised for a successful run if it sustains momentum through the weekend.
Adding to its success, Netflix has acquired the film’s digital rights for a staggering Rs 95 crore—the highest OTT deal in Ajith’s career. As per reports from 123Telugu, the film will begin streaming in May, further expanding its reach beyond the theatres. With a powerful box office debutand a major digital release ahead, Good Bad Ugly is shaping up to be one of the biggest Tamil blockbusters of the year.
The platform had announced on X and wrote, “AK fans, it’s time to pick your favorite: the Good, the Bad, or the Ugly. Or... why not all three? Good Bad Ugly, coming to Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi after its theatrical release!”
