The noise cancellation of the earphones during calls could have been better.

Highlight: Comfortable fit, flat design

Catching up with the low-cost true wireless earphones trend, Oppo has introduced the Enco W31. These earphones promises to be a delight for music lovers due to its high bass output.

The Enco W31 flaunts a small hockey puck-shaped case with smooth rounded edges and matte finish. Inside the case, there are two in-ear earphones with flat surfaces. The flat surface makes it easy to listen to music or other stuff and also have a phone call comfortably while lying down on one side. It feels secure and doesn’t put much pressure on the ears. The fit is perfect and doesn’t slip off easily. These earphones pair easily with phones.

The W31 is IP54 dust-and-water resistant, making it sweat and splash proof. But don’t take it for a swim.

Talking about features, the earphones come with an auto-pause functionality -- the moment you remove one of the earphones, the music stops; it starts playing when you plug it back into your ear.

The Oppo Enco W31 offers touch support. You can double tap on the left side to switch between balance mode and bass mode. Double tapping on the right earphones changes the song track. A triple-tap on either sides activates the voice assistant - Siri for iPhones and Google Assistant for Android.

The Enco W31 seems to be custom made for India given the high focus on bass output. The earphones come with 7mm drivers and offer a special bass mode which can be turned on by simply double tapping the right earphones. Having said that, if you are an audiophile or someone looking at in-depth acoustics, then this may not be the right choice for you. The bass tends to be overwhelming.

While the noise cancellation is not that good during phone conversations, it is adequate for music. As far as call quality is concerned, it gets the job done and you won't have much to complain about.

Oppo claims up to 3.5 hours of playback time without the charging case and up to 15 hours with the case. If you are looking to buy your first true wireless earphones and don’t have much idea about this new type of earphones, the Oppo Enco W31 is a secure bet.

Fitso gives you recommendations on the basis of your BMI (which it calculates according to the height and weight your input). If you want to lose weight, it will give you the option to track your daily calories intake with a diet journal as well as ask you to burn calories with physical activity. You need to set a target weight and choose whether you want to do only a diet or diet & exercise. We like the clean app interface. You can also opt for a coach service which starts at just Rs 149/week.

As the name suggests, this free app helps you calculate your calorie intake basis what you eat and drink. We liked that it has an option of adding how much weight you want to gain/lose per week (and it accordingly informs how many calories you should consume each day). As long as you input your food and drink correctly, the app shows you a nutrient breakdown, making it easy to see how much protein, fat and sugar you have consumed. You can view your progress in a graphic form, sync data with third party devices and apps as well as have the app remind you to eat food on time.

A smart weighing scale helps you keep a track of various parameters. A dedicated fitness band is great for tracking your daily activity (as opposed to having an app on your phone). You can buy one starting as low as Rs 1,200 going up to Rs 20,000 or more. We recommend getting a fitness band that offers a heart rate tracker, good battery life and water resistance. We always recommend Fitbit if you can spend more.
