OpenAI CEO Sam Altman wishes Google a happy birthday, says search engine giant changed his life

Search engine giant Google recently turned 25.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman took to X (formerly Twitter) to wish the world’s number 1 go-to source for information, a very happy birthday. He also revealed that throughout the years, he had used Google’s products and they had changed his life for the better.

“Happy 25th birthday to Google, one of the most important companies ever. I am very grateful for the amazing products that have changed my life and so many others. (I worry this will come across as some sort of snide comment; I mean it very genuinely)...” reads the post.


Many of his followers left comments, praising ChatGPT's role in revolutionising communication. “The three epochs of the Internet use: 1. Sort knowledge (e.g. Yahoo) 2. Search knowledge (e.g. Google) 3. Synthesize knowledge (e.g. ChatGPT),” wrote an X user.

Another wrote, “Just like Google, ChatGPT has had a profound impact on me. It feels like an augmentation to my consciousness, connecting me to a world of knowledge.”

Another praised, “You've accomplished a great deal too. Thanks for delivering truly exceptional products. You're already the most impactful company of the decade, and the decade has just begun.”

Google celebrated its 25th birthday on Wednesday. Taking to its blog the company thanked fans for celebrating ‘25 years of curiosity,” and also took fans down memory -lane, from the time of its inception in the Stanford University dorm room to dominating the Internet.
