Only in Bihar: Mom of three weds lover after 12 years of marriage, ex-husband arranges wedding

An unusual story from Saharsa, Bihar, has captured widespread attention: a mother of three recently married her boyfriend—with her ex-husband arranging the ceremony. After 12 years of marriage, the woman entered a relationship with another man, himself a father of two. In an unexpected move, her husband decided to step aside, enabling the new union.

During the wedding, the boyfriend applied vermilion to the woman’s forehead, signifying their marriage, as the ex-husband declared that any future issues were now the couple’s responsibility. A video of the event, shared by the social media page Ghar Ke Kalesh, quickly went viral, accompanied by the caption: “Extra-Marital Affair: Mother of three marries father of two with her husband’s help. Saharsa, Bihar.”

The video has garnered over 5.5 lakh views and sparked a flood of reactions online. One user quipped, “Bro really embraced ‘letting go is true love’!” Another joked, “Bihar is its own nation. Don’t include it with us—Bihar isn’t for the faint-hearted.” Some speculated humorously, “Best way to avoid alimony and maintenance!”


This isn’t the first time such a case has emerged from Bihar. In August, a man in Lakhisarai facilitated his wife’s marriage to her childhood lover with the backing of local villagers. Despite being married for three years and having a two-year-old daughter, the woman had maintained her relationship with her lover. Upon discovering the affair, her husband arranged their marriage, closing a complex chapter in their lives.
