OnePlus Nord 6 launching on April 7 in India with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and a 9000mAh battery

OnePlus Nord 6 prioritizes performance and battery life. It features the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset for enhanced gaming. A massive 9000mAh battery promises extended usage. Fast charging and a 165Hz display are also included.

OnePlus has confirmed that the Nord 6 will launch in India on April 7, with a clear focus on performance and battery life. The company is positioning it as a step up for the Nord lineup, especially for users who prioritise gaming and long usage cycles.

At the core of the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, built on a 4nm process. It uses a 1+3+4 architecture with a Cortex-X5 prime core clocked up to 3.2GHz, paired with an Adreno 835 GPU. OnePlus claims significant gains over devices like the Motorola Edge 60 Pro in synthetic benchmarks, with higher CPU, GPU and AI scores. The Nord 6 reportedly crosses 2.5 million on AnTuTu, though real-world performance will ultimately matter more than benchmark numbers.

Gaming is clearly a big part of the pitch. OnePlus says the Nord 6 can deliver sustained 165FPS gameplay in titles like BGMI, Call of Duty Mobile and Free Fire MAX. There’s also a dedicated touch chip with a claimed 3200Hz touch sampling rate and a high-sensitivity gyroscope aimed at competitive gamers. On paper, it sounds ambitious, but how consistent this performance is over longer sessions remains to be seen.

The phone is also expected to feature a 165Hz AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and high peak brightness figures, along with features like PWM dimming for better low-light usage and improved touch response in wet conditions.

Connectivity is handled by what OnePlus calls a G2 Wi-Fi chip, alongside support for next-gen 5G networks. The idea here is to ensure stable performance in crowded environments, whether that’s gaming, streaming or video calls.

Perhaps the most striking spec is the battery. The Nord 6 is said to pack a 9000mAh cell, which would be one of the largest in this price segment. OnePlus claims up to two and a half days of moderate use, with fast charging via 80W SUPERVOOC. There’s also support for bypass charging to reduce heat during heavy use, and reverse wired charging.

The device will be available in three colours: Holographic Quick Silver, Fresh Mint and Low-Reflection Pitch Black.

Full details, including pricing and availability, will be announced at the launch event on April 7 at 7PM IST. We’ll also be spending time with the device around that time, so expect a detailed review once it goes official.
