The tally of OnePlus smartphones launched this year reached four with the OnePlus 8T. This is the first OnePlus device with a quad rear camera setup and 65W fast-charging support. The company has priced it competitively to take on the likes of Samsung Galaxy S20 FE and Xiaomi Mi 10.
The OnePlus 8T comes with a 'glasstic' design. The smartphone houses a curved glass back and a flat screen, which is surrounded by a metal rim giving a premium look and feel to the device. The handset features a 6.5inch Fluid AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The always-on display manages to offer impressive performance. The display, with smooth wide-viewing angles, is also bright enough to be used under direct sunlight. It also offers accurate colour reproduction and balanced sharpness.
The OnePlus 8T is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor paired with 8GB and 12GB of RAM. The smartphone comes in two storage options - 128GB and 256GB. It performs effortlessly and you will not notice any lag while playing games or multitasking. We also tried some heavy editing apps on the device and it handled them very well.
The OnePlus 8T is the first smartphone from the company with Android 11 out-of-the-box topped with the company's own OxygenOS 11. It offers stock Android-like user experience and has minimal bloatware. The smartphone comes with an app drawer that prevents cluttering in the home screen. The company has also included one-hand mode for better user experience.
The OnePlus 8T sports a quad-rear camera setup - a 48MP main sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 5MP macro lens and a 2MP monochrome lens. The handset does a fine job in the camera segment as well. The images captured using the main camera were bright and vibrant. Those captured using the macro camera offered ample detailing with accurate colour reproduction. The monochrome camera will delight those who like back and white images.
The all-new OnePlus phone houses a 4500mAh battery and manages to last for up to 18 hours on a single charge. It can charge 0-100% in 39 minutes.
