Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus on Monday unveiled its flagship device, the OnePlus 6T, at an event in New York. Opening the event, the company's CEO Pete Lau called it the biggest launch event they've had in the US, while adding that it was his first time on stage in the country.
The five-year-old tech company's second smartphone of the year, with a small notch and chin, has three variants priced at $549, $579, and $629.
The 6T sports a 6.41-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2340x1080 (402ppi) and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
It has a dual-camera setup (16MP and 20MP) and offers optical image stabilisation. It is the first phone from OnePlus to come with an in-display fingerprint scanner, called 'Screen Unlock'. The company claims that it is the fastest in-display fingerprint scanner in the world, and takes only 0.34 seconds to unlock.
The smartphone's 3,700mAh battery offers the best battery life-ever in a OnePlus device.
It has a dual-camera setup (16MP and 20MP) and offers optical image stabilisation. The company has also introduced 2 new camera features - Nightscape and Studio Lighting. Nightscape aims to improve low-light photography, helping you take better pictures at night, while the 'Studio Lighting' feature - developed by photographer Kevin Abosch - promises better portrait shots. The 'Nightscape' feature will also come to OnePlus 6.
The phone comes with OxygenOS on top of Android 9 Pie, and is powered by Snapdragon 845.
