OnePlus 5T launch: Specs, features and how to watch the launch live

The much-awaited OnePlus 5T launch is set for today, at 9:30 PM IST. This is a flagship device from the house of the Chinese tech giant.

This smartphone will essentially be a spruced-up version of the OnePlus 5. In a first, the Chinese tech giant is engaging with their audience through a simulcast of the global launch.

With this launch, OnePlus will be able to compete with the likes of iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 and the likes, all of which feature the bezel-less design language.

The launch event is scheduled to start at 11am GMT (9:30pm IST), and is being held in New York City. To keep the fans engaged, the company is hosting live screenings of the launch event in theatres in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune. In fact, OnePlus says all the tickets for the launch were sold out across all five cities soon after they became available.

OnePlus 5T: Specifications and features
OnePlus 5T will sport a bigger 6.01-inches display when compared to 5.5-inch in OnePlus 5, and it will be bezel-less having a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio.

Improvements on the camera front are also expected. OnePlus 5T will get dual 16MP + 20MP cameras at the back, the front camera is said to be a 16MP one.

OnePlus 5T will run an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor (up to 2.45GHz), and it will be available in two variants based on storage – one with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and another with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM.

The device won’t have a home button, and the fingerprint scanner will be present on the back cover.

OnePlus 5T will run Oxygen OS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The battery on OnePlus 5T is expected to be the same non-removable 3,300mAh one seen on OnePlus 5.

It will come with support for Dash Charge technology. OnePlus 5T is said to weigh slightly more at 162 grams, and it will measure 156.1 x 75 x 7.3 mm.
