OnePlus 2 to be available without invites

NEW DELHI: If you are hunting for invites to buy the OnePlus 2 smartphone, you need not search anymore. The Chinese startup has announced that that its flagship smartphone will be available without invites starting December 5.

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei wrote in a post on the official forum: "The invite system has been crucial to letting us scale our operations and has given our fans a unique way to share OnePlus with the people in their lives. But we are always trying to enhance the OnePlus experience for you and taking risks to push ourselves and show real improvements. That's why we're making the OnePlus 2 invite-free ... forever!"

Along with this, the new OnePlus X will be available without invites for 48 hours, from December 5 to December 7.
During the December 5-7 period, the company is also giving a 50 per cent discount on the StyleSwap cover for OnePlus 2. Similarly, there is a 90 per cent discount on all OnePlus One accessories. Other accessories by the company get a 10 per cent off.
OnePlus will also give a limited number of early buyers a Never Settle mousepad.
