One Piece season 3 release details: Alabasta arc to be featured in the live-action version of the hit anime series. When to watch?

Netflix’s live-action One Piece is heading into one of the most important parts of the original story, with the upcoming third season set to take the Straw Hat Pirates to Alabasta. The new season will continue the story after the events of Season 2 and put Princess Vivi, her homeland and the growing threat around the kingdom at the centre of the action.

Fans will not have to wait for confirmation on whether the show is returning. Netflix has already renewed the popular adaptation for a third season, and production has now wrapped. However, there is still some waiting involved before viewers can actually watch the new episodes.

One Piece Season 3 release date and where to watch

Netflix has confirmed that One Piece Season 3 will premiere in 2027. The streaming platform has not announced an exact release date yet, so fans will have to wait for another announcement before they know the precise day the new season will arrive.


The series will continue to stream exclusively on Netflix, like its first two seasons.

Production on Season 3 began after the show received an early renewal in August 2025. Netflix announced by November that year that filming was underway, while production eventually wrapped in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2026.

There is also no official trailer for the new season yet. Since filming has finished, however, more footage and promotional material could arrive ahead of the 2027 release.

Alabasta arc will be at the heart of Season 3

The third season is officially titled “One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta”, making it clear where the live-action story is headed next.

The storyline will focus on Princess Vivi and the Kingdom of Alabasta, which is facing a rebellion and a much bigger threat from Baroque Works. Sir Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, is secretly behind the growing conflict and wants to take control of the kingdom through his underground organisation.

Netflix’s official logline says the rebellion “threatens to tear the nation apart, fueled in secret by one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, the ruthless Sir Crocodile, and his underground syndicate Baroque Works, who seek to conquer Alabasta for themselves.”

It further states, “In a season defined by unbreakable bonds and impossible choices, the Straw Hats must face a brewing civil war and a powerful warlord to save Vivi’s kingdom before it crumbles into the sand.”

Who is in the One Piece Season 3 cast?

The main Straw Hat crew will return, with Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

Charithra Chandran will return as Princess Vivi, while Mikaela Hoover will play Tony Tony Chopper. Joe Manganiello is back as Mr. 0, with Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Alabasta King Nefertari Cobra.

Season 3 will also introduce several new characters. Cole Escola will play Bon Clay, Xolo Maridueña will appear as Portgas D. Ace, Daisy Head will play Miss Doublefinger and Awdo Awdo will portray Mr. 1.

Variety also reported the casting of Emilio Sakraya as Koza, Omid Abtahi as Toto, Jamie Ward as Pell and Nabeel Khan as Chaka.

With the Alabasta conflict now set to drive the story, One Piece Season 3 looks ready to take the live-action adaptation into a much bigger chapter.
