The second season officially premiered worldwide on Netflix on March 10, 2026. Unlike many series that release episodes weekly, the makers have followed a binge format for this instalment. All eight episodes were released at the same time, allowing fans to watch the entire season without waiting for new episodes every week.In total, the season runs for around 481 minutes, making it slightly bigger in scale compared to the first season. The episode titles include The Beginning of The End, Good Whale Hunting, Whisky Business, Big Trouble in Little Garden, Wax On, Wax Off, Nami Dearest, Reindeer Shames, and Deer and Loathing in Drum Kingdom.
The release date announcement had earlier been shared by actor Iñaki Godoy, who plays Luffy. While revealing the premiere schedule in a Netflix Tudum video, he said, “Drum roll, please. The official release date for season 2 of the One Piece Live Action is 2026, March the 10th.”
What the story explores in Season 2
The new season pushes the story further into the Grand Line, a mysterious stretch of sea filled with unusual islands, strong enemies and unexpected allies. Luffy and his crew continue their search for the treasure left behind by the Pirate King, Gold Roger.Season 2 takes the Straw Hat Pirates through several locations, including Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak and Little Garden. The story gradually moves toward the Drum Island arc, which becomes a key emotional part of the narrative. The arc introduces Dr. Kureha, the elderly doctor who lives on the island and plays an important role in the storyline.
According to Tudum, co-showrunner Matt Owens mentioned that Dr. Kureha will have a pivotal role in the second season.
The events of this season also set the stage for the well-known Alabasta storyline, something many fans expect to see explored further if the series continues into a third season.
