An acclaimed writer sent publicists in a tizzy while mincing no words in describing a recent upheaval in corporate India. Within earshot were consultants of spin. They were gobsmacked as the wordsmith aimed his words like well-picked stones, which could potentially cause grievous injury to the conglomerate. The writer bluntly said, “The whole thing is a sham in some ways and we shouldn’t even be surprised that it’s a sham.” So why were the spiel-meisters so stunned by the frank views being expressed? Because the entire show had the patronage of the same business house, at which the said person of letters was an honoured guest.
