A famous sportsman marries a star. The wife gradually starts getting involved in her husband’s work life. Mr and Mrs Power Couple get preferential treatment even at team activities. If protocol is broken, no one has the spine to tell them.

There is no river in the dressing room yet, but an invisible undertow of egos and mutating dynamics has been churning for a while. It may even have played a role in a team’s recent debacle.

Rich, attractive and the better half of an important man, the woman’s word, intentionally or otherwise, carries more weight than it should. Worryingly, the lady is rumoured to follow faith healing and such alternative practices. And word is they are being brought into play in the dressing room. The other players, naturally, seem to be caught on a sticky wicket.
