Watching the Argentinian Open Polo Tournament is on top of Jindal Steel & Power chairman Naveen Jindal’s bucket list. This top boss feels that travelling is like adding miles to your life.

My first solo trip…
“I have been travelling for as long as my memory goes back, but one of my most memorable adventures would have to be my first solo trip that I did as a part of my pilot license training. It was an exhilarating experience to be in total command with no one but yourself responsible for your life.”

Travelling to me is…
“Like adding miles to your life. You always come back knowing more. To learn, one has to go out, see and experience new things and places, meet new people. Each time you travel, you are stepping out of your comfort zone into a larger world and it gives you a panoramic view about the world and yourself.”

Out of my comfort zone
“Usually I am lazy about getting out of my home, but once I am on my way, I begin to enjoy the journey and its new possibilities. On trips abroad, I dread travelling till I am seated in the plane. As soon as I take off, I tend to relax and look forward to all the unknown experiences and adventures.”

Friends on a journey
“I have met a lot of people while travelling in trains in India and on flights across the world. I usually introduce myself and start conversations. Sometimes, I pick their brains throughout and often end up making some unusual friends from different backgrounds , people I would never have met otherwise. That is one of the biggest perks of travelling.”

Places I would like to return to
“There are many places I would like to return to, like Dallas (Texas), where I went to graduate school, most countries in Europe like Italy, Spain, UK and France where I made several friends while travelling in trains.”

On my bucket list
“I have travelled extensively as I like to see exhibitions, partake in conferences, visit steel plants and learn about new technologies. I still have a bucket list though. I would love to go on a wine trip to the Bordeaux region in France and to Argentina to play polo and watch the Argentinian Open Polo Tournament. I have always thought of life as a journey… so my trip is still on.”.
