Billionaire Anand Mahindra decided to share special anecdotes of his life on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti on Thursday.

Sharing his childhood memory, the Mahindra Group Chairman said that his mother always asked him to finish the food on his plate to be strong like the Bajrangbali. "As a child, my mother would tell me to finish all my food if I wanted to be as strong as Hanumanji," he wrote in his caption.

Hanuman Jayanti marks the birth of Lord Hanuman. It is observed on the day of the full moon in the Hindu month of Chaitra, also known as Chaitra Poornima. On this occasion, devotees across the world keep fast and offer prayers to the deity. Devotees chant Hanuman Mantras to appease Sankatmochan and form a deeper connection with Lord Hanuman, who is known as the god of wisdom, strength, courage, devotion and self-discipline.

As Mahindra grew up, he recalled the time he joined a gym, which was filled with pictures of Lord Hanuman to inspire fitness enthusiasts to gain muscles.

"Later, when I started working out at a gym, there would be posters of Hanumanji to inspire the development of muscles. It was only much later that I realised that his true ‘muscles’ were wisdom, courage, devotion and self-discipline…," he added.

Several Bollywood celebrities took to social media to extend warm wishes on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.
