Rata Tata came into his life, and it has been a memorable journey for his assistant Shantanu Naidu.
Currently holding the General Manager's post at the Office of RNT (Ratan Naval Tata), Naidu took to LinkedIn to thank his mentor on Guru Purnima. The festival, celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Buddhists, honours the gurus (teachers) for their guidance and mentorship.
Alongside a picture of himself with Tata Trusts Chairman, the 28-year-old shared that his mother has never let him leave the house on Guru Purnima without flowers and coconut for his teachers. It appears the ritual has continued even today.
The young entrepreneur reminded his 55,827 followers on LinkedIn that it was a 'good day' to thank their gurus.
"Of all the forms of relationships one can have with a guru, Dasya (service) and Sakhyam (friendship) are paramount I think... Without them we're just unmoulded clay," he added.

In November 2019, the Mumbai resident caught Tata's attention, thanks to his paw-some initiative 'Motopaws'. His thoughtful initiative of reflectors collars that could save the lives of stray dogs won the philanthropist's heart.
Soon after, he landed his dream job as Tata's assistant. This year, he was promoted to the role of 'General Manager' at Tata's Office. He is also the Deputy General Manager at Chairman's Office for Tata Trusts.
During the pandemic, Naidu followed his dream to become an author and launched his first book 'Came Upon A Lighthouse' in collaboration with HarperCollins Publishers India. In the illustrated memoir, Naidu shared the life lessons he learnt from his boss, whom he fondly calls the 'millennial Dumbledore'. He also shared a candid account of what it was like to work with Tata.
"Tata, personally, should not be limited to me alone. There are shades of him other than a humble businessman which I have tried my best to capture in this light-hearted narration. I also wanted to talk about how genuine and wholesome intergenerational friendships can be, and Sanjana’s emotion-drenched illustrations definitely help with that," he wrote on LinkedIn describing the book.

Naidu had promised that all the proceeds from the book will go to Sparsh Trust - an upcoming hustling animal welfare organisation.
