Omar Abdullah takes dad Farooq for a spin in the new Thar, returns impressed; Mahindra thanks him for his 'enormous compliment'

Omar Abdullah, the ex-Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, recently went for a drive with his father Farooq Abdullah, also a former J&K CM, and returned home quite impressed. The 50-year-old's compliment also left an India Inc boss very happy.

Abdullah drove the new Mahindra Thar and took to Twitter to praise the car, "Took dad for a spin in the new Mahindra Thar. What an amazing vehicle! I loved the short drive & can't wait to take it for a longer one when it snows & off-road into the mountains. Take a bow team Mahindra. Kudos Anand Mahindra."



Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra responded to the praise, saying, "Coming from you, that's an enormous compliment! I know you're very demanding of the cars you drive."


It wasn't just Abdullah Jr. who was impressed with the car. In another tweet addressed to the Mahindra boss, Omar Abdullah asked him for his number since his father wanted to share his thoughts about the Thar with the auto tycoon.



The new-gen Mahindra Thar, priced between Rs 9.80 lakh and Rs 13.75 lakh, was launched in India on October 2.
