Office space tips by Aditya Swamy of MTV

It’s a music company’s office, so think off-beat. It has an open culture and nobody knocks on glass cabin doors. The theme is Monsters At Work, so the monster on Aditya Swamy’s cabin door says: ‘The Great Black’. creativity is a nice excuse for Everything here:

Strings Attached: “Mea culpa. I inherited this guitar but I don’t know how to play it. My wife gifted it to me on Valentine’s day last year along with a course in playing the guitar. This one, though, is for narrations in our office.”

Pin Interest: “This is the only item I inherited from my predecessor Vikram Raizada. it’s meant to keep pins and clips in.”

Hey Buddy! : “A team member gifted me this — it is the basS guitarist from the band KISS who is called Demon. I love rock so, I guess he chose this.”

Play Before Work: My holiday list with long weekends is the first thing I put up in my cabin. Wi th my wife running a travel agency, these weekends are easier.

Cool Dude: “Some of the advantages of heading a creative space like MTV is that you get to keep the coolest products — like this fridge, which we thought of since ‘cool’ is something you associate with when you say ‘MTV’.”

Winning Sheath: “In which other office will you find condoms on a CEO ’s desk? Well, we make them, so I get to keep them here, along with the rest of the MTV merchandise that you see around.”

The Hot Seat: “All the best ideas happen on the bean bag. The idea for MTV Indies actually took off from here. It’s the ‘hot seat’!”
