Odia singer Jyotirmayee Nayak wins Indian Idol 16: Here's how much prize money she took home

Jyotirmayee Nayak from Odisha has been crowned the winner of Indian Idol Season 16, ending months of fierce competition with a memorable victory in the grand finale. The singer, who impressed judges and audiences throughout the season with her consistent performances, lifted the winner's trophy on Sunday (July 26) after outperforming five other finalists.

Who is Indian Idol Season 16 winner?

Along with the prestigious trophy, Jyotirmayee received a cash prize of Rs 20 lakh for winning the singing reality show. She sealed her victory with a powerful performance of Saiyaan O Saiyaan, which helped her edge past fellow finalists Anshika Chonkar, Manraj Veer Singh, Myscmme Bosu, Suhail Sufi and Tanishk Shukla in the final round of the competition.

From the very beginning of the season, Jyotirmayee established herself as one of the strongest contestants. Her ability to perform songs across different genres earned praise from the judges as well as the audience.


One of the standout moments of her journey came when she performed O Jab Tak Hai Jaan Jaane Jahan Main Nachungi. Veteran actor Hema Malini was so impressed by the performance that she gave Jyotirmayee a standing ovation.



Another memorable performance was her rendition of Jaane Kyun Log Mohabbat Kiya Karte Hain. Actor Leena Chandavarkar appreciated the performance and said she would love to hear the classic song in Jyotirmayee's voice, making it another special moment during the season.

Before entering Indian Idol, Jyotirmayee had already made a name for herself in the Odia music industry. Beyond her singing career, she has also been involved in using music therapy to support cancer patients, adding another inspiring chapter to her journey before appearing on national television.

A star-studded grand finale

The grand finale of Indian Idol Season 16 featured several celebrated names from the music and entertainment industry. Judges Shreya Ghoshal and Badshah were joined by special guests Usha Uthup, Udit Narayan, Papon, Kumar Sanu, Shehnaaz Gill and Urmila Matondkar, making the finale a grand celebration of music.
