Odd Alarm review: Not easy to dismiss, will ensure you wake up when it goes off

All phones, smartphones and feature phones, have an alarm function. So why would anyone need a third-party alarm app? Well, that's because a lot of people will just hit that snooze snooze button and go right back to sleep. Odd Alarm has been designed to get you out of that habit - and to make sure you get up at the time that you're supposed to.

There is no registration or sign-up required. Just swipe up on the main screen to create a new alarm. There are sliders for hours and minutes and a switch to select am or pm. The free version gives you three alarm sounds: Cat fight, dog barf and glass breaking.


If you want more options, you can unlock all alarm sounds by paying US$ 1.99. For most users, these three sounds are good enough (read: annoying enough). If that was not enough, you can't just dismiss this alarm. To switch the alarm off, you have to drag and place a clock on to a moving icon. You'll need to be fully awake in order to do that. One thing missing is the ability to set multiple alarms. Apart from that, Odd Alarm is great.
