O Romeo will be available on OTT very soon
Following a modest performance in cinemas, Vishal Bhardwaj’s action-packed romantic drama O’Romeo has now made its way to digital audiences. The streaming platform Prime Video officially confirmed the film’s online debut, bringing the Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri starrer to viewers at home. The movie blends romance with high-stakes action and draws inspiration from the non-fiction work Mafia Queens of Mumbai authored by S. Hussain Zaidi.

Digital Debut After Theatrical Run

The film became available for streaming on April 10, arriving on the platform roughly eight weeks after its theatrical release in February. Interestingly, the announcement regarding its OTT premiere was relatively low-key. Unlike the usual practice followed by major Hindi film releases—where streaming plans are often revealed well in advance—this update came quietly, surprising many fans who discovered the film already accessible online.

Star-Studded Ensemble Cast

Alongside the lead pair, the movie features Avinash Tiwary in a significant role. The supporting lineup includes seasoned performers such as Nana Patekar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, and Farida Jalal. Additionally, Vikrant Massey makes a special appearance, adding further depth to the ensemble. The project has been backed by producer Sajid Nadiadwala under his production house, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

Story Rooted in Crime and History

Set against the backdrop of 1990s Bombay (now Mumbai), the narrative centers around a ruthless contract killer known as Ustara. The character is notorious for his unconventional and chilling method of eliminating targets, using a barber’s razor as his weapon of choice. The storyline intertwines elements of love and violence, offering a gritty portrayal of the city’s underworld during a turbulent period.

By adapting themes from Zaidi’s acclaimed book, the film attempts to capture the complexities of crime, power, and human relationships within the Mumbai mafia landscape, presenting audiences with a stylized yet intense cinematic experience now accessible on streaming platforms.
