Don’t we at some point in our lives dream of quitting our 9-5 jobs and simply pack our bags to leave for the mountain? But it is not about going to the mountains or the beach specifically. The core idea revolves around breaking free from the shackles of the tiring corporate world that takes every bit of our energy. Meeting deadlines, juggling schedules, and working overtime often takes a toll on our mental health, leading to burnout. But brave are those who can escape the rat race and make a living for themselves, doing something they have always wanted.

Gurugram woman leaves job to settle in Dehradun

Such is the story of Gurugram-based woman Anshika Singh, who had the courage of quitting her exhausting corporate job to live in the lush green hills of Dehradun. Anshika has recently shared a video on Instagram where she talked about how the decision has changed her life for the better, helping her find balance and purpose.

In her post, Anshika Singh revealed that she resigned from her job in October 2024 and moved to Dehradun. As per the woman, the job was ‘quietly draining’ her and hence she took the bold step. After moving to Dehradun, she allowed herself to take a few months to herself for pausing, breathing and figuring things out. According to Anshika, there were days when she had her doubts and couldn’t find all the answers, but she never gave up.

Sometime later, Anshika Singh appeared on some online interviews and finally got a remote job offer, where she is currently working. The shift from the metro city to the hill town helped Anshika lead a slower and gentler life. She now gets to spend more time with her family, enjoy with her friends, attend events, go on trips and do things she actually loves. But the biggest change Anshika felt was that she woke up every morning without feeling heavy or thinking that it was a chore.

In conclusion, Anshika Singh wrote, ‘It finally feels like I am living my life and not just getting through it. Thank you, universe, for the life I get to live now. For the peace, the growth, and everything in between.’ Her post has struck a chord with social media users, with many enquiring about her lifestyle, her current job role and how she managed her finances when moving to Dehradun.
