Now get personalised Netflix recommendations with new 'My Netflix' tab offering seamless streaming experience

In a bid to enhance user experience and cater to individual preferences, Netflix has unveiled its latest feature, the 'My Netflix' tab.

Designed as a personalized hub, the tab offers a comprehensive view of users' activities and interests within the streaming platform. This move comes as part of Netflix's continuous efforts to keep viewers hooked to its vast library of content.

Variety has reported that starting from Monday, the 'My Netflix' tab will replace the Downloads tab on the Netflix app, providing users with a streamlined experience.


The tab incorporates various sections, including a consolidated list of downloaded TV shows and movies, titles that have received a thumbs-up, items saved in the My List watch list, watched trailers, set reminders for upcoming releases, a list of ongoing series and films, and a record of recently viewed content.

According to Edith Chao, the Netflix product manager, the 'My Netflix' tab is tailored to users' preferences, and the more they interact with the platform, the more customized the recommendations will become.

For instance, if a user frequently adds action-thrillers like 'Extraction 2' to their My List or shows appreciation for every season of 'Bridgerton' with a thumbs-up, the tab will adapt to showcase more similar content.

The feature is available on iOS devices starting today and will roll out on Android devices in early August, shared TechCrunch.

However, this is not the only update to the Netflix app; the 'Home tab' still exists, offering the full catalog of shows and movies, along with personalized recommendations, top-trending titles, and a "continue watching" section. Additionally, the 'New & Hot' tab promotes Netflix's 'Top 10' lists, new releases, and a trending category called 'Everyone's Watching'.

While some users may find the inclusion of certain fringe features, such as a section for rewatching movie trailers, a bit peculiar, the move to consolidate such elements in one dedicated space may prove beneficial for overall navigation.

However, this consolidation has also resulted in some commonly used sections, like 'Continue Watching' and 'Watch It Again,' being incorporated into the 'My Netflix' tab, potentially prompting users to explore the new feature.
