Nothing phone (1) rolls out new update; 'narrowly escapes destruction' in durability test
The new update ensures the device works flawlessly with a third-party charger.

The GSM Arena report confirmed that the fingerprint icon will now appear with a slight nudge even when the display is off. The report said that the update made the fingerprint sensor a 'little speedier'.
The company claimed that the update made the better charging efficient and third-party charger compatible. The update will ensure the device will work flawlessly with every charger and support faster-charging too.
The Nothing OS 1.1.2 update will set a custom schedule as default for the always-on display functionality. The function will shut off on its own at night, but the users can choose to explicitly keep the display on.
While the updates are small, they give the device some necessary upgrades.

When Nelson tried heating the display with a lighter, a visible mark was left on the screen. During the bend test, the phone (1) made cracking sounds.
In another video, Nelson implied that the smartphone was difficult to repair and got a poor repairability score. He rated the phone (1) three out of 10 due to the time taken for repair, parts availability, and screen and battery replacement.
