While most travellers return home with fridge magnets or souvenir keychains, one 25-year-old has turned his bedroom wall into a living archive of his journeys. Deeraj Ds, an Indian traveller, is going viral for a ritual that’s refreshingly personal and strikingly visual. Instead of tucking away boarding passes in drawers, he transforms them into a growing travel gallery — and the internet can’t look away.

Deeraj recently grabbed attention after sharing a video of his post-trip routine on Instagram. His ritual is simple but meaningful: after every journey, he adds his flight ticket to his wall. Over time, that blank space has evolved into a collage of memories, each ticket marking a destination, an airline, and a story.

His collection includes boarding passes from Indigo, Air India, Singapore Airlines, Vistara, Flair Airlines and AirAsia, among others. In the now-viral clip, he is seen carefully placing his latest Indigo ticket from a recent trip onto the wall. The camera pans across the display as he proudly showcases how far he has travelled, both literally and figuratively.

Through his caption, Deeraj described the act as a compulsory tradition he follows after every trip, updating his wall with the newest addition. He also encouraged others to share their own after-travel habits, sparking conversations among viewers about the ways they preserve memories.

Netizens react

The video has already racked up an impressive 6.2 million views on Instagram, and the comments section quickly turned into a space where fellow travellers shared their own quirky traditions. While some said they prefer sticking fridge magnets onto their refrigerators after every holiday, others pointed out a practical challenge — boarding pass ink tends to fade within months, leaving behind nearly blank slips marked only by immigration stamps.

A few viewers got nostalgic, especially about the classic yellow Air India boarding passes, with one noting how the Maharaja logo still stands out among the rest. Several people were able to relate to Deeraj’s habit, revealing that they too have preserved every flight ticket from their journeys so far.

One user shared a creative twist, explaining that they buy a book at the airport, convert boarding passes into bookmarks, and revisit the same book months later to relive the memories of that trip. Not all reactions were serious, though. Adding a dose of humour, one commenter joked about saving IRCTC screenshots instead — a playful nod to budget travel realities.
