The buzz began after travel content creator Soumya Chatterjee shared a video on Instagram showcasing the actual filming location featured in both Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2. In the films, the location appears as the fictional 'Washma Butt' tea and biryani shop, a place where major conversations unfold between the two spy characters.

Unlike the high-octane action sequences that dominate the franchise, these scenes offered viewers an emotional pause and helped deepen the bond between the characters. As a result, the tea shop became one of the most recognisable locations in the franchise.



The real-life location is the SH Khan Restaurant, situated in the heart of Leh. The owners have embraced the movie connection and continue to celebrate it. A board outside the establishment proudly informs visitors that scenes from both Dhurandhar films were shot there.
